Kai fang
Kai fang (開放/开放) is a Chinese term meaning "opening up." Since the reforms of Deng Xiaoping, China has engaged in a continuous, albeit slow, push toward a reorganization of Chinese society along the lines of liberal economic tenets. A more recent leading figure of this development has been former Prime Minister Zhu Rongji, who believed China should aim to become a developed economy in 50 years' time.
