Kalluru or Kallur is a mandal in the Khammam district of Telangana, India. It is located at between Khammam and Sathupalli.[1] Kalluru is connected by national highway and it is 50 kilometers from Khammam. On 11th October 2016 it was formed as a New Revenue Division with six Mandals(Kalluru, Vemsoor, Sathupally, Penuballi, Thallada and Enkoor) in Telangana state reorganization structure.
Population
Kalluru Mandal has a population of 63,336 while Kalluru town, which is the headquarters, has a population of 15,807 (2011 census).[2] [3]

Kalluru Mandal has a literacy rate of 41% while the headquarters has a literacy rate of 72(2008 Census)[4]

Transport
There are a lot of transport facilities from various cities of Telangana. located between Khammam and Sattupalli number of vehicles pass through this way to reach Rajamundry, Vizag. There are buses of shuttle service to Madhira from this town. NSP cross roads serves as a checkpost between the states ANDHRA PRADESH and TELANGANA. Very Near to Amaravathi State capital of Andhra Pradesh (127 km). Biggest Checkpost in between of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Temples
Kalluru has a famous temple of Lord shiva known as Srikashmira Mahadevakshetram and also has "Sri Santhana Venugopala Swamy Temple". The Lord Venu Gopala Swamy temple. Kallur, located at the centre of the Khammam District, is renowned for its 400 year old history. The Lord Venu Gopala Swamy temple, constructed by Queen Rudrama Devi, is one of the major Hindu pilgrimage sites of the region. This region was once the taluka headquarters of the Qutub Shahis. The ancient Shiva temple at this site was built by Prathapa Rudra, a Kakatiya king. Five Shivalingas are situated in the inner sanctum of this temple. Before worshipping the god, devotees take a bath at the tank situated within the temple premises. [6] The lord Anjaneyaswamy Temple is located at Kalluru cheruvu. On the Kappalabandam road an old temple has rebuilt this temple has 100 of years history.
Religious
As it is part of the glory Kalluru has a good secular society which shows healthy relation between all the communities. The main temple Santhana Venugopalaswamy Devasthanam (built by Kakatiya Queen Rudrama Devi 400 years ago) and the main masjid Jame Masjid (built by some unknown Muslim preacher 400 years ago which was renovated by local Muslims recently) are situated at same locality and nearby.
