Yekaterina Kishchuk (Russian: Екатерина Кищук; born 13 December 1993) is a Russian singer and model. She is best known for being a member of girl group Serebro.
Life and career
Early life
Katya Kischuk was born in Tula on 13 December 1993. At a young age she showed an interest in dance, and was devoted to this hobby throughout her childhood and into her teen years. As a young girl, she performed in many dance competition, and became a two-time winning dancer in Hip-Hop. Kischuk was also very interested in acting. She attended the theater faculty of the Moscow University of Culture for a year, before moving to the faculty of music, where she stayed for two years.[1]
Modeling
In 2011, Katya Kischuk was spotted by a modeling agency thanks to her photos on Instagram, and eventually became a successful model not only in Russia, but in many parts of Asia as well.
Kischuk spent 4 months in Bangkok, where she worked as a model for a number of local clothing brands.
Serebro
On the 1st May 2016, former Serebro member, Dasha Shashina, left the group due to serious health issues. The same day, producer Maxim Fadeev announced emergency casting to find a replacement. Weeks later, it was announced that Kischuk would be replacing Shashina.
On the 27th May 2016, Serebro released their third studio album "Сила трёх". The album was recorded material as part of a trio of Olga Seryabkina, Polina Favorskaya and Daria Shashina. "Chocolate" is the only song featuring Kischuk.
Personal life
After working as a model in Bangkok, Katya Kischuk eventually went to China for five months in order to "understand herself."
Kischuk is currently a student of pop-jazz Department at the Moscow Institute of contemporary art.
Kischuk is fluent in Russian and English.
