Ken-ichi Takashima

Ken-ichi Takashima (髙嶋謙一) (born 1939) is, according to the editors of the Thesaurus Linguae Sinicae, "the world's leading authority on Shang dynasty oracle bone inscriptions".[1] A native of Tokyo, he studied under Fr. Paul L-M. Serruys, C.I.C.M. at University of Washington, graduating in 1973. After a short stint at the University of Arizona, he spent his whole career as a professor at University of British Columbia, where he remains an emeritus professor.[2] He has also held visiting posts at Tokyo University, Anhui University, and Erlangen.[3]
