Kenneth Uwadi (born 29 April 1972) is a Nigerian human rights activist and columnist. He is the founder and President of Youths for Human Rights Protection and Transparency Initiative (YARPTI), a youths right and development non-governmental organization.

Biography

Uwadi was born in Mmahu-Egbema of Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria.He studied Linguistics and Communication Studies at the University of Port Harcourt. In May 2003 he was employed as Accountant in Alcon Nigeria Limited, a position he held till May 2016.

Activism

Uwadi has played active roles in campaign for good governance in Nigeria, youth employment and workers rights. He is also involved in defending cases of human rights violations, injustices, environmental degradation and neglect of the oil producing areas in Nigeria. When an Owerri-based social crusader Citizen Ikenna Samuelson Iwuoha was arrested on the 13th of June 2014, he was involved in the struggle for his release.
