Kitsap Regional Library
The Kitsap Regional Library system is a library system serving Kitsap County, Washington. It runs nine libraries throughout the county, and provides a bookmobile and outreach services for youth and schools,[1] serving a population of 250,000. The system has a collection of more than 535,000 items and provides computers and technology for residents of Kitsap County.
Kitsap Regional Library sponsors the "Resolve to Read" winter reading program, a Summer Reading Program for children and teens, and an annual One Book, One Community program. The library's many community partnerships include the Puget Sound Genealogical Society, local school districts, the county's Worksource offices, and local independent bookstores (for the sponsorship of the "West Sound Reads" series of author talks).
The system is an independent governmental unit funded by a county-wide property tax. The system's budget for 2013 is about $10.8 million.
