Kolionovo (Russian: Колионово) is a village in Yegoryevsky District, Moscow Oblast, Russia. The population, as of the 2010 census, is 9. The village is located at the end of a dead-end road[1] about 125 km away from Moscow. The town gained notoriety in 2010 when resident Mikhail Shlyapnikov fought local turf fires without government assistance.[2] The village also banned government officials from entering the town without a note proving their mental health[2] and a recent fluorography test to prove that they do not have tuberculosis.[3] In 2014, Shlyapnikov created a local currency called the "kolion" as an alternative to the ruble.[2][4] Shlyapnikov was later arrested and the kolion was declared illegal tender.
