Kunwar Naveed Jamil (Urdu: کنور نوید جمیل) is a Pakistani politician, and parliamentarian from Muttahida Qoumi Movement. He served as the mayor of Hyderabad from 2005 to 2010. He was elected as Member National Assembly of Pakistan on April 23, 2015 from Azizabad seat of NA-246 after Nabeel Gabol resigned from the position. He also served as member of Rabita Committee of the MQM. He is a lawyer by profession[1]
Political career
Mayor of Hyderabad
In 2005, the MQM won the partyless local government elections held during the regime of Gen Pervez Musharraf. MQM’s Kanwar Naveed Jamil was elected district nazim of Hyderabad.[2]
National Assembly of Pakistan
He was elected a member of national assembly on a ticket of Muttahida Qaumi Movement from NA-246 (Karachi) in a by-election conducted in 2015 as a result of seat vacated by Nabeel Gabol. He received a total 95,644 from 131,418 total votes[3] and defeated his opponents with a big margin.
