Lava Design

Lava Design is a design agency based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

History

Lava was founded in 1990 by creative director Hans Wolbers.[1]

On 10 May 2010, it received the title of “European Design Agency of the year”.[2]

At the beginning of 2013 Lava established its Beijing office, taking off its China venture now.[3]

Projects and clientele

Lava caters to many clients. The Moscow Design Museum, the Impakt Festival, the Institute of the Arts Artez and the Istanbul Biennial are just a few on this list.

Awards and distinctions

Lava Design has won awards from D&AD,[4] Red Dot,[5] and the European Design Award.[6]
