• Sergio Osmeña Sr. – Second President and First Vice President of the Philippine Commonwealth, Second Senate President Pro Tempore, Former Senator, First Speaker of the House of Representative, Secretary of Public Instruction, Health and Public Welfare, 2nd Elected Governor of Cebu.
• Mariano Jesús Cuenco – Fourth President of the Senate and Former Senator of the Philippines (1941–1964), Former Member of the House of Representative, Governor of Cebu and Secretary of Public Works and Communication during the Phil. Commonwealth era.
• Vicente Sotto – Former Senator of the Philippines, and the "Father of Cebuano Literature".
• Dionisio A. Jakosalem - Former Governor of Cebu, First Filipino to become a member of the official cabinet during the American Commonwealth regime. He was also part of the first Philippine Independence Mission which was sent to the United States under the leadership of former President Quezon.^[7]
• Sotero B. Cabahug - Former Governor of Cebu, Member of the House of Representatives during the American Commonwealth regime. Post war Secretary of Public Works and Communications, Secretary of National Defense, and Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals (1956-1962).^[8]

• Vicente Rama – "The Father of Cebu City", Former Senator of the Philippines, Former Congressman of the third district of Cebu, Former Mayor of Cebu City, he authored as primary sponsor of the bill making Cebu City, a Chartered City.^[2]
• Atty. Napoleon G. Rama Sr. – Award Winning Journalist, Columnist, Publisher of the Manila Bulletin, Member of the 1986 Constitutional Commission, and in 1987, Floor Leader of the Constitutional Convention. awarded the Premio Zobel in 1992. awarded the Philippine Legion of Honor/Order of Lakandula (Grand Commander) on February 26 2011.
• Sergio Osmeña III – also known as Serge Osmeña, Senator of the Philippines.
• Emilio Mario Osmeña – also known as Lito Osmeña, Former Governor of Cebu (1988–1992), Founder and Chairman of PROMDI Party (Probinsya Muna Development Initiative or Provinces First Development Initiative).
• John Henry Osmeña – also known as Sonny Osmeña. Former Senator of the Philippines, Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance and Blue Ribbon Fact Finding Committee, authored and sponsored the Senate Bill on the Modernization and Expansion of the Energy Infrastructure of the Phils. and the Capability Development and Strengthening of the Department of Energy. Former Member of the House of Representatives and currently City Mayor of Toledo City, Cebu.
• Antonio Abad – Premio Zobel winner in 1928 and 1929. He was a poet, fictionist, playwright and essayist.
• Archbishop Jose Maria Cuenco – Vicar General of the Cebu Archdiocese in 1925 and Archbishop of Jaro, Iloilo.
• Miguel Cuenco - Former Congressman, 5th District of Cebu (1931-1965). He pursued studies on Diplomacy and International Relations at the Georgetown University in Washington D.C. after passing the bar as lawyer in the Phils.^[9]
• Hilario G. Davide, Jr. – (Honorary Alumnus) Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations in New York. He was also the Truth Commissioner of the Philippines. A recipient of Papal Award the Pontifical Equestrian Order of St. Sylvester Pope and Martyr. He serves the USC Board of Trustees.
• Raul del Mar – Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Philippines.
• Ramon Fernandez – PBA player and awarded most valuable player (MVP) in four (4) different seasons of the PBA.
• Aniano A. Desierto – Former Ombudsman of the Republic of the Philippines.

• Jesus Estanislao, PhD – Former Secretary of Finance, President and CEO of the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP). Founding and Charter President (1992–1997) of the University of Asia and the Pacific, Pasig, Metro Manila.^[4]
• Lourdes Reynes Quisumbing, PhD – First Female Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports. She is the President of the Asia-Pacific Network for International Education and Values Education (APNIEVE) and Former President of Miriam College in Quezon City, Metro Manila.^[10]
• Pablo P. Garcia – Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Congress of the Philippines. Served as Governor of Cebu from 1995 to 2004.

• Marcelo Briones Fernan – (Honorary Alumnus) Former Senator of the Philippines, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and Senate President. He was member of the USC Board of Trustees.
• Lauro Mumar – Former Filipino basketball player and later served as the national team head coach of India and the Philippines. He led the San Carlos College of Cebu City (now the University of San Carlos) to the first post-war Inter-Collegiate basketball championship in 1946.
• Hilario P. Davide III - Governor of Cebu on June 30, 2013 to present, son of former Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr. Former Councilor of Cebu City and lawyer.
• John Geesnell Yap II - Mayor of Tagbilaran City on June 30, 2013 to present, Former Councilor of Tagbilaran City and Chief Accountant of their family business at Bohol Tropics Resort, at age 38 he is one of the youngest City Mayor in the country.
• Celestino E. Martinez, Jr. - Mayor of Bogo City, Cebu and Former Member of the House of Representatives, Team Manager of USC Warriors as 2015 CESAFI champion.^[14]
• Julius Caesar Herrera – Vice-Governor of Bohol, 2001 to 2010.

• Wilfred Steven Uytengso, Sr. – Founded General Milling Corporation in the late 50s, which eventually became Alaska Milk Corporation.^[7]
• John Gokongwei, Jr. – Filipino Chinese business magnate, self-made billionaire, philanthropist, Founder and Chairman of JG Summit Holdings one of the largest diversified conglomerates in the Phils. As of 2015, Gokongwei is the second richest person in the Philippines with a net worth of $5.5 Billion, ranking behind only to Henry Sy, the Phils. richest person.. He was conferred an honorary Doctor of Science degree in Business and Enterprise Development by USC in 2004 for his contribution to the economic growth and development of the country's commerce, trade and industry.
• Stephen Sy Gaisano, Sr. - Patriarch of the Gaisano Retail Chain, the premier retailing empire in southern Phils with branches nationwide. He succeeded as head of the corporation from his mother Dona Modesta Singson Gaisano the matriarch and fore founder of the family business who first established the White Gold Dept. Store in Cebu City in the 1950s. He established the Dona Modesta Gaisano Foundation which grants and supports hundreds of poor and deserving students in Cebu. He was conferred an honorary Doctorate degree in Education and Entrepreneurship by USC in 2005.^[12]
• Benito Gaisano – Founder of the Gaisano Grand Group of Companies.^[13]
• Jack Gaisano – CEO of Vicsal Metro Gaisano chain of department stores and malls the biggest general merchandise company outside Metro Manila.^[14]
• Eugene Acevedo – Former President and CEO of the Philippine National Bank (PNB).^[7]
• Alberto Villarosa - Chairman of the Board, previously President and CEO of the Security Bank of the Philippines.^[15]
• Justin Uy – Founder and CEO of Profood International, the largest tropical fruit processing, manufacturer & exporter of dried mangoes and tropical fruits in the Phils and Asia. Export market include US, Canada, UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America and South Africa.^[14]
• Napoleon L. Nazareno – President and CEO, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company and President and CEO, Smart Communications. His leadership expanded the technology infrastructure and market share of PLDT Smart as Phil. largest telecommunication company. Awarded as Top Corporate Executive of the Phils. and Southeast Asia and was conferred an honorary degree Doctor of Technology by USC in 2012.^[7]
• Jesus Alcordo – President of Uitilities Filinvest Development Corp.(FDC) concurrently Chairman, President and CEO of East Asia Power Resources Corp.,Former President of National Power Corporation, Global Business Power Corporation, Cebu Energy Development Corporation, Panay Energy Development Corporation.He is a Commissioner of the Phil. Energy Regulatory Commission. He was conferred an honorary degree Doctor of Science in Engineering by USC in 2011.^[14]
• Benson Dakay – Founder and ex-CEO, Chairman of the Board, President of the Shemberg Group of Companies, the largest seaweeds processing, carageenan manufacturer and exporter in the Phils. with major export markets in US, Canada, UK, Europe, Japan and other Asian countries. He led the Phil. campaign for acceptance of Phil. Natural Grade (PNG) carrageenan as nontoxic food additive in the US and European Union which won approval and kept the Phil. carrageenan world market. He was awarded as Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Philippines (TOYM) for Aquaculture in 1988 and the Golden Shell award for his valuable contribution to the development of Philippine aquaculture, processed seaweeds and carrageenan export industry ^[7]
• Pio B. Castillo and Dennis B. Wong – CEO & president and COO, vice-president, managing director & general manager respectively of International Pharmaceuticals, Inc. which has expanded from a Cebu homegrown pharmaceuticals company to nationwide market and manufacturing plants in Luzon and Mindanao^[16]
• Pericles Dakay, PhD – President, CEO of Dakay Construction Corporation one of the largest construction company in the Phils. with projects in southeast Asia region. Dr. Dakay is a PhD in structural engineering, university scholar and former board of trustee of the university.^[17]
• Dr. Tomas L. Fernandez - Former Dean, Cebu Institute of Medicine, he instituted and established the Biomedical Research at the premier medical school in Visayas and Mindanao regions. he took his pre-medicine B.S. Biology degree at USC.^[14]
• Dr. Pek Eng Lim - renowned physician and specialist of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Cebu Chong Hua Hospital and Cebu Doctor's Hospital, he serves as Chairman of the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF) of Metro Cebu and took his pre-medicine B.S. Biology degree at USC.^[14]
• Mariquita Salimbangon Yeung – Founder and Chairperson of the Mariquita Salimbangon Yeung Charitable Foundation Inc. or MSYCFI.^[18]
• Luz Mancao Sandiego – Pioneer researcher and conservator of indigenous Cebuano folk dances, founder of the Sandiego Dance Studio which produced a nationally and internationally acclaimed Sandiego Cultural Dancers. She organized and developed the USC Dance Troupe and Physical Education program of USC.^[19]
• Fe Sala Villarica – Nationally known Cebuana Ballerina and founder of the Ballet Center in Cebu, and organized the Queen City Junior Ballet Company. Founder, Teatro Folklorico Ballet Center West in San Diego, California, USA.^[19]
• Concepcion Rodil Martirez – Founder of St. Martin de Porres School for the Mentally Retarded and Hearing Impaired in 1966.^[19]
• Lelani E. Paredes – First Female President of the National Press Club, Cebu Chapter.^[19]
• Araceli G. Almase, PhD – Former Regional Director of the Department of Science and Technology Region 7, established the regional standards, testing & calibration facility in Cebu the first one outside Metro Manila to cater and serve the needs of industries, academe, private and public sectors in the region.^[19]
• Melva C. Rodriguez Java – Architect and Keeper of Heritage, Former Dean, College of Architecture & Fine Arts, University of San Carlos ^[19]
• Zenaida R. Uy – led the Open Mass Movement during the Marcos dictatorship, Chairperson of USC Sociology & Anthropology Department. ^[19]
• Erlinda Kintanar Alburo, PhD – The "Schovocate" of Heritage and Literary Scholarship, she is a contemporary scholar and advocate of Cebuano language and literature as former Director of USC's Cebuano Studies Center. A recipient of several local and national awards, Best Research Program Award of CHED Region VII in 2008, the National Commission of Culture & Arts Literary Award in 2010, and the Gawad Paz Marquez Benitez Award of 2015 as an outstanding Philippine literature teacher and researcher. Presently, she is a Commissioner of Cebu City Historical and Cultural Affairs since 2010.^[19]
• Socorro Atega, Landscape Architect - Executive Director and Past President of the Cebu Uniting for Sustainable Water Foundation (CUSW); Trustee and Vice-Chairperson of the Foundation for the Philippine Environment; Past Program Coordinator for Landscape Architecture in the University of San Carlos School of Architecture, Fine Arts and Design. She represents CUSW in the Cebu City River Management Council, Parks and Playgrounds Commission, Central Cebu Protected Landscape Management Board, and Technical Team of Cebu Provincial Environment Committee. She obtained her master's degree in Landscape Architecture at Harvard University in 1983, awarded Outstanding Individual of the Year 2013 by the Cebu City Government.
• Ernesto Pernia, PhD - Secretary of Economic Development and Planning and Director General of National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) under President Duterte administration cabinet, former lead economist, Economics and Research Department (ERD) of Asian Development Bank (ADB), Formerly principal economist and senior economist of ADB. He was also Regional Adviser on Population and Employment Policy and Research for Asia and the Pacific, International Labour Office (Bangkok) and Research Fellow, East-West Center Resource Systems Institute, Honolulu. He has a Ph.D.from the University of California, Berkeley, an M.A. (Economics) from the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and an A.B. (Economics) at USC. Former Chair and member of the USC Board of Trustees, Professor Emeritus in Economics at UP Diliman. Recently on February, 2015 the Philippine - American Academy of Science and Engineering (PASSE) awarded him Leadership in Science and Economics for his excellence in policy researches and publications of social sciences, economics and technology in national development.^[20]
• Resil Mojares, PhD – Filipino Historian and Critic he was Founding Director (1975–1996) of USC's Cebuano Studies Center, a pioneering local studies center in the Philippines. Visiting professor in leading Ivy league universities in US, Canada, UK and Europe.^[7]
• Nemesio E. Montano, PhD - Multi-awarded Filipino Scientist in the field of marine natural products and marine pollution chemistry, professor, senior scientist and director of UP Diliman Marine Science Research Institute. He played a key role in the formulation of the standard specifications of carrageenan and raw dried seaweed. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including Outstanding Professional Award 2012 by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC), Outstanding Chemist of the Philippines 2011 and Outstanding Scientist of the Philippines 2013.^[7]
• Zenaida Ygnacio Monsada - First Female Secretary of Energy of the Philippines. A member of the Cabinet in charge of the Department of Energy appointed by President Benigno Aquino III and assumed office on July 2, 2015. ^[21]
• Gabriel T. Ingles, LLM - Associate Justice and Executive Justice of the Court of Appeals stationed in Cebu City. Formerly a Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court of Cebu City Branch 58, President of the Integrated Bar of the Phils. (IBP) Cebu City 1997 to 1999 and Dean, USC School of Law 1994 to 2000. Recipient of awards from IBP National as Most Outstanding Chapter President, Most Outstanding Boholano in Field of Law from the Provincial Govt. of Bohol and Boholano Worldwide Organization and Outstanding Carolinian Alumnus in 2001. He graduated Cum Laude Bachelor of Law st USC in 1981.^[22]
• Edgardo L. DeLos Santos - Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals stationed in Bacolod City. Formerly a Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court of Bacolod City and known as "no non-sense" judge when he tried a number of celebrated and controversial criminal cases.^[22]
• Joseph A. Cabides, AFP - Major General (retired), Formerly Brigadier General as Commander and Chief of the Arm Forces of the Phils. Reserve Command (AFPRESCOM) based at the national and general headquarters in Camp President Emilio Aguinaldo, Manila.^[23]
• Omar Maxwell Espina and Joseph Manuel Espina - Leading and foremost architects in Cebu, principal architects and partners of Espina, Perez-Espina & Associates, Architects which is among the well respected architectural firms in the country with major projects in Luzon and Visayas involving commercial establishments, universities, schools & colleges, malls, condominium & hotels, medical center buildings and residences in plush subdivisions. Both of them were involved with academe as assistant professors and dean of the USC School of Architecture, Fine Arts & Design. They have master's degree in Urban & Regional Planning and Landscape Architecture at UP Diliman and are fellows of the United Architects of the Phils., Phil. Institute of Civil Engineers and Phil. Institute of Environmental Planners.^[24]
• Fortunato O. Sanchez Jr. - Professional Civil & Structural Engineer with his license obtained in California, U.S. and earned his M.S. in Civil & Structural Engineering from Standford University. He worked with Wahler Associates a Geo-Technical Engineering consulting firm in Silicon Valley. Upon returning home in Cebu, together with his two siblings Carolinian engineers they established a family construction company (Socor) and diversified into real estate development, shipping, aquaculture and mining. Presently he is technical consultant of Metro Cebu Development Coordinating Board (MCDCB). , professor of USC Civil Engineering Graduate program and advisor / consultant of students and faculty members on project studies relating to infrastructure development of Cebu. He served the USC Board of Trustees from 2000 to 2003.^[25]
• Armando Guangko (ChE, 1963), Douglas Gacasan (ChE, 1968) and Godofredo Alcantara (ME, 1971) - Carolinian engineers who jointly ventured and established the Product Equipment Resources and Trading Corp. (PERT) in 1988. The industrial enterprise grew into a major metal casting company with its foundry facilities in Mandaue City boasting of three types of casting operations for copper, cast iron and sheet alloys. The company has expanded with 1,300 employees operating 7 branches in strategic areas nationwide catering the mining, cement, power, chemical and allied industries in the country with quality and precision metal casting parts and equipment. PERT is ISO 9001-2008 certified.^[26]
• Bunny Pages - Chairman and CEO of Pages Holdings Inc. (PHI) which owns and manages various food enterprises and restaurants in Metro Cebu which include Thirsty Fruit Juices and Shakes with 130 franchised outlets nationwide, Moon Café with 20 branches, Lantaw Native Restaurant, Fruitfull, Mismukuno Teppanyaki, Rico's Lechon, Cafe Racer, Sushi Boy, and a preparatory school BRIGHT Academy, among others. He was awarded as Entrepreneur of the Year for 2015 of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Aside from being a businessman he is also an active member of Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (CITOM) Board and does hosting of major events in Cebu.^[27]
• Philip N. Tan - Founder, CEO and President of Wellmade Motors and Development Corporation based in Mandaue City. He pioneered unique processes that revolutionize the metalworking industry in the country. Mr. Tan innovated the build-operate-transfer scheme, set-up machine shop franchises nationwide and overseas, in 1995 his company became the only ISO 9001-2000 certified machine shop in the Phils. and noted as among the best in precision machining, fusion welding and metal manufacturing facilities. He is a recipient of Entrepreneur of Year 2014 and Innovation Entrepreneur 2015 awarded by President Aquino in Malacanang. Presently he is the President of the Mandaue City (Cebu) Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and former President of the USC Carolinian Alumni Association.^[28]
• Antonio Camelo P. Tompar - Chairman of the Board, President / CEO of Mactan Rock Industries, Inc. and Aquapure Resources, Inc. Arbitrator of the Construction Industry Arbitration Commission. Former president of Philippine Environmental Management Professionals Association, board of director of Pollution Control Association of the Phils. and former vice president national of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers. Obtained his B.S. Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of San Carlos and Masters in Business Administration at MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology and University of San Jose Recoletos. He is a Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME) and recipient of Outstanding Carolinian Alumni Award in the field of Environmental Management in 2010.
• Ernesto Codina - Filipino-American mechanical engineer, First Philippine educated engineer to work directly with the United States (US) National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and was fortunate to be selected as one of the few engineers to design hardware for the astronauts.One of the most important NASA projects he was involved in was the design of a jet pack in 1996 that would aid the astronauts during their space walk, the jet pack helps the astronaut propel them back to the spacecraft. After over two decades of working in the aerospace industry in the US, he decided to come home so he could help the Phils. develop aeronautics education and industry.^[29]
• Christopher Y. Go - a budding Cebuano astronomer, astro-photographer and Carolinian physics graduate gained national and international recognition when he discovered the Red Spot of the planet Jupiter Oval Ba in 2004 now called Red Spot Jr. He was also part of the astronomical team which studied and imaged the Quad Transit in Saturn by using the Hubble Space Telescope. He organized the USC Astronomical Society in 1988 and in 2006 he became a member of the American Astronomical Society and its Division for Planetary Science (DPS). He was awarded the Philippines Presidential Order for Lakandula for his contribution to Astronomy and the Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers (ALPO) Walter Haas Award.^[7]
• Evelyn B. Taboada, PhD - an outstanding Carolinian chemical engineer, biochemical process engineer specialist and registered practicing patent attorney. Presently she is a full professor, Dean of the USC School of Engineering and Director of the Bioprocess Engineering Research Center (BioPERC) of the USC Chemical Engineering Dept. She spearheaded an innovation technology research and product development which is the Phils. first academe based successful patented technology and products being commercialized resulting to a start-up company the Green Environment Management Systems Inc. (GEMS) of which she is the Chief Technical & Operating Officer. A recipient of multi-awards nationally and internationally, awarded twice World Intellectual Property Rights Organization (WIPO) Gold Medal for Inventors, her PhD research dissertation won recognition as runner-up for Best Young Scientist’s Work during the European Symposium on Biochemical Engineering Sciences (ESBES) in Stuttgart, Germany in 2004. A recipient of CHED Republika Award in 2007, Ambassador Alfredo M. Yao Intellectual Property Award in 2012, ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award and ASEAN Green Award in 2014 and the 1st Manila Water Foundation & DOST Award for Engineering Excellence of 2015.^[30]
