The Little Angel Theatre is a puppet theatre catering for children, families and adults, off Upper Street in the London Borough of Islington.

The 100-seat theatre, in a former Temperance hall, was opened on 24 November 1961, by founder John Wright with a performance of The Wild Night Of The Witches. In January 2006, Peter Glanville took over as artistic director, who was then replaced in January 2014 by Adam Bennett[1]

In 2011, the theatre celebrated its 50th anniversary with a revival of Wild Night Of The Witches.

The theatre is both a producing and receiving house, showing work throughout the year other than for a short time in the summer. The theatre also runs participation activities for adults, teenagers and children on a termly basis. Professional development of puppeteers and the development of new work is supported by a continuing programme of work. In 2007, the company participated with the RSC in a production of Venus and Adonis using Japanese Bunraku puppets.[2] For the 2013 Christmas season, The Little Angel presented The Night Before Christmas and another sell-out revival of Dog's Don't Do Ballet by Anna Kemp and Sara Ogilvie.
