Loret Sadiku (born 28 July 1991) is a Kosovar-Albanian football player who plays as a defender for Kasimpasa in the Türkish Süper Lig.[1]
Career
Early career
Born in Stockholm,[2] Loret joined IFK Värnamo youth setup in 2003.
In 2009 he was promoted to the first team and made his professional debut with IFK Värnamo in the Swedish Football Division 1 championship the Swedish Third Division.
Helsingborgs IF
In 2012 he left Värnamo and signed with Swedish giants Helsingborgs IF.
Mersin İdmanyurdu
On 28 June 2014 Sadiku announced to have signed a 3-year contract with newly promoted side to the Türkish Süper Lig, Mersin İdmanyurdu SK.[3]
Kasimpasa FC
On 17 August 2016 Sadiku signed for Türkish Süper Lig Kasimpasa | for a fee of €2 milion.
International
Sadiku declared to the media that he will play for Albania in the future, since he is an ethnic Albanian, and is completing the necessary bureaucratic steps to be available for the national team.[4] In September 2013 he received his Albanian citizenship and was awaiting FIFA's permission to play for Albania.[5] He received his first call-up by Albania's coach Gianni De Biasi for the friendly match against Belarus on 15 November 2013.[6]
In 2012 Sadiku played with the Sweden national under-21 football team and was nominated "Newcomer of the year".[7]
His original birthplace Kosovo, gained the right to play international friendlies in 2014 by FIFA, causing him to switch to the Kosovan team. He made it his debut with Kosovo on 5 March 2014 against Haiti, finished in the 0–0 draw.
