MBC 3 is a TV channel in Mauritius owned by the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation. It broadcasts international, cooking, news, lifestyle shows. Sports events, such as horse racing and football matches, are also telecast live on MBC 3.
History
This Channel was broadcasting live BBC News Channel and Knowledge based programs by the Open University of Mauritius ( formerly the Mauritius College of the Air) before. After the introduction of the News Channel on its sister channel MBC 1, All knowledge based shows shift to the Knowledge channel whilst the MBC 1 programation partly shift to MBC 3. But the channel still broadcast live Football Matches along with its sister channel Sports 11.
During the turf season, horse race are broadcast live and commented on the channel. ( see Champs De Mars Racecourse). It also broadcast live events organised by the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation and other non-profit organisations.Recently it started broadcasting documentaries
As at 15 September, MBC stop broadcast of the Knowledge channel and MBC 3 was converted to Local and documentary channel.[2]
