Though the series is restricted to the two titles, Avengers World #17 onwards will have a storyline called Before Time Runs Out to help catch up readers with how the events of Time Runs Out happened. The Time Runs Out event is a direct prelude to Secret Wars.

The Black Vortex 2015 Crossover A dangerously powerful artifact known as the Black Vortex is somewhere in the spaceways of the Marvel Universe, and people from all corners of the universe are looking for it—heroes, villains, aliens, and even some people in between. Guardians of the Galaxy & X-Men: The Black Vortex is an expansive crossover event coming to Marvel comics in spring 2015, and it will tie-in to Guardians of the Galaxy and All-New X-Men, as well as Legendary Star-Lord, Nova, Cyclops, Captain Marvel and Guardians Team-Up. The event will have both and Alpha launch issue and an Omega concluding one that along with the tie-ins will make 13 separate issues.
Secret Wars 2015–2016 Event Originally running until September 2015 - the series which spins out of the Avengers and New Avengers Time Runs Out storylines, began in May 2015 with an eight issue mini series, was later changed to nine issues (plus a Free Comic Day issue #0) and extended to December 2015 but eventually pushed to January 2016. The basic premise involves the collision of the Marvel Universe with the Ultimate Marvel Universe and destroying both. Pieces of the two universes (called domains) are combined with other post collision universes creating the Battleworld where in which the Marvel Universe will be reforged and birthed anew in October 2015. Many past Marvel events will be revisited with new stories being told and include Iron Man: Armor Wars, Incredible Hulk: Planet Hulk, Incredible Hulk: Future Imperfect, Infinity Gauntlet, X-Men: Age of Apocalypse, Civil War, Wolverine: Old Man Logan, X-Men: Inferno, Marvel Zombies, Age of Ultron, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Avengers: The Korvac Saga, House of M, The Amazing Spider-Man: Spider Island, The Amazing Spider-Man: Spider-Verse, X-Tinction Agenda, X-Men: Mutant Massacre, Marvel 1602, E Is for Extinction, Marvel 2099, Siege, One More Day, Killraven, New Warriors Forever Yesterday, Weirdworld, Avengers vs. X-Men (a Skottie Young version) and a return to the stories of the 1990s X-Men cartoon with X-Men '92.
Avengers: Rage of Ultron 2015 Event It was another glorious victory for the Mighty Avengers. Good triumphed over evil and Ultron was shot into space, never to be seen again. Or so they thought. Now, years later, the homicidal artificial intelligence - so long devoted to ending life on Earth - has a new world to conquer...one with its own horrific legacy. When Titan, birthplace of Thanos, falls, Planet Ultron rises in its place! Thanos' brother Starfox must seek the aid of his former allies - but the Avengers he finds are radically different from the ones he once knew. Among them is Ultron's creator Giant-Man - and when Hank Pym confronts his now planet-sized "son", the responsibilities of fatherhood have never loomed so large.
Avengers: Standoff! 2016 Crossover To celebrate Captain America's 75th anniversary, the Avengers will find themselves in what looks like any other remote small town known as Pleasant Hill, only this gated community holds a dark and sinister secret – one that keeps its residents locked away behind its walls. Now, the time has come for its townsfolk to finally escape. As their revolt begins - why then are the Avengers trying to keep them inside?! And what does it have to do with S.H.I.E.L.D.? Even Earth’s Mightiest Heroes won’t be prepared for the truth behind Pleasant Hill. The event kicks off with a one-shot issue Avengers Standoff!: Assault on Pleasant Hill Alpha (in February there will be a prelude called Avengers Standoff!: Welcome to Pleasant Hill) and will continue through Avengers family titles, including Sam Wilson, Captain America, All-New, All-Different Avengers, Uncanny Avengers, New Avengers, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Illuminati and Howling Commandos of S.H.I.E.L.D. before finishing with Avengers Standoff!: Assault on Pleasant Hill Omega.
Spider-Women 2016 Crossover The event will begin with an "Alpha" issue before going into the three ongoing books, then culminating with a finale "Omega" issue and will see Jessica Drew and Cindy Moon stuck in Spider-Gwen's alternate reality and while they're away from the main Marvel universe, doppelgangers masquerading as them began causing havok in New York.
Apocalypse Wars 2016 Crossover This "thematic crossover" will involve the three X-Men titles and but will not intertwine, instead each will contain a story arc related to Apocalypse. Beginning in Extraordinary X-Men #8, the Extraordinary X-Men must travel through time to retrieve mutantkind's "last hope" from Apocalypse. Uncanny X-Men (vol. 4) #6 begins a story where the team deals with problems pertaining to Archangel. An arc beginning in All-New X-Men (vol. 2) #9 will focus on Kid Apocalypse.[21]
Civil War II 2016 Event Brian Micheal Bendis and David Marquez team up for a sequel to the popular event by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven. A mysterious new Marvel character comes to the attention of the world, one who has the power to calculate the outcome of future events with a high degree of accuracy. This predictive power divides the Marvel heroes on how best to capitalize on this aggregated information, with Captain Marvel leading the charge to profile future crimes and attacks before they occur, and Iron Man adopting the position that the punishment cannot come before the crime. The event will begin in June 2016 and will directly follow Avengers: Standoff!. It begins when a precognitive individual foresees the murder of one famous character by a superhero, sparking the 2nd Civil War.
Dead No More: The Clone Conspiracy 2016–2017 Crossover The storyline will see the return of Jackal, who is revealed to be the mysterious man in the red suit and wearing the Anubis mask that has been seen approaching several of Spider-Man's enemies with a peculiar deal to them, if they follow his orders he will revive their lost loved ones. "The Clone Conspiracy" will start in October and will be primarily a standalone five-issue miniseries; the storyline will also cross through the issues #20-23 of the Amazing Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-Man Annual (Vol. 3) #1 as well as Prowler new miniseries. The storyline is preceded by a story arc called "Before Dead No More" which run in Amazing Spider-Man #16-19.
Death of X 2016-2017 Limited Series Set during the 8 months after the events of Secret Wars, it chronicles the previously untold story of the rising tensions between the Inhumans and Mutants and sets the stage for the blockbuster Inhumans Vs. X-Men event.
Inhumans vs X-Men 2016–2017 Event Soon the Terrigen Mists will reach 100 percent saturation worldwide and the X-Men are in desperate straights. The M-Pox caused by the mists are ravaging numerous mutants and soon there will be no where left to hide, everyone of them may become infected. There is only one choice left and that is to destroy the mists, only the Inhumans will not allow it to happen. The mists have swelled the ranks of the Inhumans and they see any interference in their form of evolution as a direct threat to their existence. The war between both will begin in December 2016 with a six-part series and will spill over into every X-Men and Inhuman ongoing title.
  • ResurrXion: In the fallout of the Inhuman-mutant war a few new series under the ResurrXion Initiative will come after this event, primarily Jean Grey, Iceman, Cable, Weapon X, Generation X, X-Men Blue, X-Men Gold, Royals, Black Bolt and Secret Warriors.
Monsters Unleashed 2017 Crossover Monstrous behemoths known as Leviathons threaten to destroy every corner of the Marvel Universe and its all hands on deck with the Avengers, Champions, Guardians, X-Men and the Inhumans to prevent this monstrous invasion. The storyline will be self contained in an eight standalone special issues but several monthly titles will tie-in with it with each issue gaining the suffix .MU attached much like what was done during the Age of Ultron and Inhumanity.
