  • ItalyBombardier announces that it has been awarded a contract valued at €368 million (US$487 million) from Trenitalia to build 150 new E464 electric locomotives to augment the railway's existing orders of 538 locomotives, of which 350 are currently in service. This order is expected to lead Trenitalia to become one of only a few European railway companies with single-model locomotive fleets. The new locomotives, which will be manufactured in Italy, Spain and Poland, are expected to be delivered beginning in February 2008.[1][2]
