Mark Greaney (born 1968) is an American novelist, best known as Tom Clancy's collaborator on his final three books, and for continuing the Jack Ryan character and "Tom Clancy Universe" following Clancy's death.
Early life and family
He is son of Ed Greaney, a presence at WMC-TV Memphis for over 50 years[1] and the namesake for the station's current newsroom. Mark continues to reside in Memphis, Tennessee along with his family.[2]
Writing career
Mark Greaney made the transition to becoming a full-time writer after the success of his first Gray Man novel, and confirming the sale of its sequels to his publisher in 2009.[3]
As of 2016, he has published 12 novels, five novels in the Gray Man series: The Gray Man (2009), On Target (2010), Ballistic (2011), Dead Eye (2013) and Back Blast (2016),[4] three direct collaborations with Tom Clancy: Locked On (2012), Threat Vector (Jack Ryan, Jr.) (2013), Command Authority (Jack Ryan) (2013),[5] and four books continuing Clancy's Jack Ryan universe: Tom Clancy: Support and Defend (A Jack Ryan Jr. Novel) (2014),[6] Tom Clancy: Full Force and Effect (A Jack Ryan Novel) (2014),[7] Tom Clancy: Commander in Chief (2015) and Tom Clancy: True Faith and Allegiance (2016).
His novel, The Gray Man (2009) is being adapted into a motion picture by Sony and Columbia Pictures.,[8] tied to director Joe Roth[9]
