Matchesfashion.com is a luxury fashion retailer for men and women. The company offers the work of more than 400 designers like Gucci, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen,[1] Burberry and Lanvin. The business operates both digitally with MATCHESFASHION.COM and via five London stores. They also have No.23, a private-shopping townhouse. The MATCHESFASHION.COM headquarters are at The Shard in London Bridge.[2] The fulfilment centre is based in north-west London.
History
- 1987 Tom and Ruth Chapman open the first Matches store in Wimbledon Village, south west London
- 1997 A second store opens in Richmond, London
- 1999 Matches opens in Ledbury Road, Notting Hill
- 2004 Matches publish their own magazine which promotes the brands and product they stock
- 2007 Matches launches its website
- 2008 A store opens in Marylebone High Street, London
- 2008 The head office relocates to Clapham, south west London
- 2011 Matches open a private shopping townhouse for VIP clients in London’s Marylebone
- 2013 The company rebrands to MATCHESFASHION.COM across the whole business including London stores
- 2014 Open a store on Wimbledon High Street, London
- 2015 Own label RAEY launches for both men and women, Rachael Proud is Creative Director
