Mediafon is a telecommunications company, based in Lithuania. The Company's activities conclude the provision of wholesale voice transit services, fixed and mobile telephone services, maintenance and technical support for SMS value added services, telecommunication fraud prevention, specialized number portability, numbering plan management and equipment identification register solutions.

Overview

Established in 1998 under private capital funding, the Company began its activities by offering maintenance and technical support for voice value added services.

In 2001 the Company expanded its business in the SMS market and started offering maintenance and technical support for SMS value added services.

Since 2003 the company has been providing wholesale telecommunication services and currently Mediafon is the second-largest carrier in the Lithuanian transit market. Mediafon provides wholesale traffic transit services in 5 continents (Europe, Asia, Africa, Northern America and Southern America) and 38 countries.

In 2007 Mediafon became part of MG Baltic group that is one of the largest corporations in the Baltic States.

Since 2010 Mediafon has been providing specialized set of number portability services. Presently Mediafon’s branches provide number portability Centre administrator services in Azerbaijan, Moldova,[1][2] El. Salvador[3][4][5][6][7] and Senegal.[8]Mediafon also provides number portability solution NUMLEX for the Central NP database administrator of the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan.[9]

In January 2013 Mediafon launched its fraud prevention services.

On 14 August 2013 Mediafon was named the winner of a Bronze Stevie Award [10] in the Company of the year category at the 10th Annual International Business Awards.

Since February 2015 Mediafon has been certified ISO 27001:2013, ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001.
