Şehzade Mehmed Ziyaeddin (26 August 1873 - 30 January 1938) was an Ottoman prince, son of Sultan Mehmed V and Empress Kamures Kadın.

Life
Mehmed Ziyaeddin Efendi lived most of his life in İstanbul in the restrictive surroundings of Dolmabahçe Palace. He was born in the apartments of the Ortaköy Palace, and then moved into the main palace once his father had become the Ottoman Sultan on 27 April 1909. He was educated at tge Habibiye College, Istanbul. He was also appointed General in the Ottoman Army. He was also a noted dermatologist. Together with his brother, he tried to support his father during the difficult years of the First World War. Following the establishment of the Turkish Republic and the aboliton of the Ottoman Sultanate and the Ottoman Caliphate, the entire Imperial Ottoman family were forced into exile in March 1924. Life in exile was always very difficult since members of the Imperial Ottoman family had no financial means, and all yearned to return to their homeland. He died at the age of sixty five at Alexandria on 30 January 1938 and was buried in Khedive Tawfik Mausoleum, Cairo.

- HIH Princess Behiye Sultan (8 November 1900, Istanbul, Dolmabahçe Palace - 1950, Cairo, Egypt, buried in Alexandria [Tosun], Cairo [Abbas Hilmi], Egypt), married firstly at Istanbul, Dolmabahçe Palace in 1912 and divorced in 1913 to Ömer Halim Turhan (16 February 1898, Yeniköy - 1954), married secondly at Istanbul, Göztepe Palace on 3 March 1921 and divorced in 1931 to Cemaleddin, married at Alexandria, Egypt on 9 November 1934 to Hafiz Zaki (died 1950), and had issue.
- HIH Princess Ünsiyar Hanım (Bandırma, 12 March 1887 - Alexandria, Egypt, 10 September 1934), married at Dolmabahçe Palace, Istanbul on 16 August 1903, daughter of Rıza Bey and Firdevs Hanım, and had:
- HIH Princess Dürriye Sultan (3 August 1905, Istanbul, Dolmabahçe Palace - 15 July 1922, Heybeliada, Istanbul, Turkey, buried in Haydarpaşa, Ayrilik çeşmesi), married in January 1922 to Mehmed Cahid Osman Bey (January 1899, Istanbul, Örtaköy Palace - 30 March 1977, Istanbul, Turkey, buried in Kozlu, Istanbul), son of Mehmed Kemaleddin Bey and HIH Princess Naime Sultan daughter of Sultan Abdul Hamid II, without issue.
- HIH Princess Rukiye Sultan (11 October 1906, Istanbul, Dolmabahçe Palace - 20 Febeuary 1927, Budapest, Hungary, buried in Budapest, Hungary), married at Haydarpaşa Palace on 5 January 1924 to Abdülbaki Ihsan Sokolluzade Bey (1900, Istanbul - 20 September 1968), and had issue.
- HIH Şehzade Mehmed Nazim (22 December 1910, Istanbul, Dolmabahçe Palace - 14 November 1984, Göztepe, Istanbul, Turkey, buried in Eyüp, Sultan Reshad Mausoleum), married firstly at Alexandria, Egypt, in 1938 to HIH Princess Perizad Hanım (born 11 June 1918), married secondly at Cairo, Egypt, on 4 December 1945 to HIH Princess Halime Hanım (16 June 1919 - 22 March 2000, Cairo, Egypt), and had issue.
