Melicope simplex is a shrub in the Rutaceae family that is native to New Zealand.
M. simplex, commonly known as poataniwha, is an attractive shrub growing to 4 metres high. Poataniwha has small 1-2 cm long serrated leaves, and produces white flowers followed by tiny black seeds.[1]
