Michael E. Brown (professor)
Michael E. Brown (born 1954) is Professor of International Affairs and Political Science at the George Washington University and former dean of the Elliott School of International Affairs.[1][2][3]
Biography
Brown received a Ph.D. in Government from Cornell University.[4]
He was Senior Fellow in U.S. Security Policy at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London (1988 to 1994). He then became Associate Director of the International Security Program at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University (1994–1998). In 1998 he joined the faculty of the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, becoming Director of Georgetown's Center for Peace and Security Studies in 2000. In 2005, he was appointed Dean of the Elliott School of International Affairs and Professor of International Affairs and Political Science at the George Washington University. He held that position until 2015, after which he continued at the school, as a faculty member with a research focus on international security.[2]
