Michael Miley or "Miley" is the drummer of the rock and roll band Rival Sons. He is from Long Beach, California.
Musical career
Miley moved to Hollywood to pursue music full time after college. Around this time is when he first met Jay Buchanan. He then began a 5-year stint playing with Joe Firstman with whom he toured extensively until Joe became musical director for Last Call with Carson Daly on NBC. Miley continued on the Carson Daly show for a few years whilst also touring with Veruca Salt. In 2005 Miley met Scott Holiday, they decided to jam and form a band. Shortly after Miley played a Hurricane Katrina benefit organised by Issac Hayes where he met future Rival Sons bassist Robin Everhart. They formed a band called The Black Summer Crush with Scott Holiday , fronted by Thomas Flowers, signed to EMI but nothing happened. Scott found Jay Buchanan on the internet then our new band became Rival Sons. [1] [2]
