Michael Raffl (born December 1, 1988) is an Austrian professional ice hockey left winger. He currently plays for the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Raffl previously played in the Austrian Erste Bank Eishockey Liga for EC VSV and the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan for Leksands IF. He participated at the 2011 IIHF World Championship as a member of the Austria men's national ice hockey team, and was also named to team Austria for the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Playing career
Raffl signed a one-year NHL entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers on May 31, 2013.[1]
He scored his first NHL goal on December 9, 2013, against Craig Anderson of the Ottawa Senators.
Raffl signed a two-year contract extension with the Flyers worth $2.2 million on March 22, 2014.[2]
