Nitsuh Abebe of Allmusic gave it two and a half out of five stars, stating that the album contains few redeeming qualities and sounds dull compared to the band's previous output.^[1] On the other hand, critics of the Trouser Press found Milky Juicy to be just as appealing as the previous record, saying it was the band's most eclectic music to date.^[2]
