EuroJunior 2004
In 2004, Mirela participated in Eurojunior, the Spanish pre-selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2004, with Maria Isabel and Blas Cantó, where she sang her song, Conocí El Amor (I Met Love).[1] She narrowly lost out to María Isabel, who represented Spain and overall went on to win the festival with the song Antes Muerta Que Sencilla
Gente De Primera 2006
In 2006, she appeared in the TV-musical show "Gente de Primera" competing for a record deal. She was praised by the judges and audience alike for her impeccable performances of Celine Dion's Sola Otra Vez [2] and Mariah Carey's Heroe.[3] She went on to finish second overall in that reality show, losing out to a close vote against male pop singer, Nauzet.
Eurovision
In 2007, Mirela participated in Misión Eurovisión 2007. Her best performance was with the song "La Reina de la Noche" (Queen of the Night).[4] She was the public and judge favorite to win. However, she went on to face her 'deja vu' for the third time in a reality show, by finishing second place once again, losing to boyband D'Nash. Mirela later on won the chance to represent Spain in the OGAE Second Chance Contest with the track La Reina De La Noche and finished in third placed overall, only beaten by Sweden and the United Kingdom.
In 2008, she took part for the second time in the Eurovision Song Contest with her song entitled Stronger,[5] but did not reach the national final.
Mirela took part in her third bid for the Eurovision song contest, taking part in Eurovision 2009: El Retorno. She made the national final on the 2009 pre-selection for Spain with the song Nada Es Comparable A Ti (No One Compares To You).[6] She first performed her song on the semi final on February 28, 2009. She came in second in that semi final. She performed it for a second time in the final, and ended up finishing fourth place overall. It was the most successful ballad to enter that year.[7] Despite finishing fourth in the Spanish national final, Mirela won her chance to represent Spain in the OGAE Second Chance Contest 2009 With 880 votes, beating Melody, Isi & Santa Fe, the next highest vote getters. This is the second time Mirela represented Spain in this contest, previously in 2007 with La Reina de la Noche. She reached third place overall out of twenty countries in the 2009 OGAE with Nada Es Comparable A Ti.
La Voz
In September 2012, she entered the talent show "La Voz", Spanish adaptation of "The Voice", where she auditioned with "Sola Otra Vez". One of the judges, Melendi, hit his "I Want You" button, thus she joined his team. In the second round of the contest, "The Battles", she was eliminated by Javi Mota, with whom she performed "Devuélveme la vida".
