Monitoring the Future survey

The Monitoring the Future survey is an ongoing study of the behaviors, attitudes, and values of present American youth. The survey started in 1975 with 12th graders only and later in 1991 with 8th and 10th graders. Approximately 50,000 8th, 10th and 12th-grade students complete the survey annually.[1] Annual follow-up surveys are also conducted on some of the participants.[2]
