Montreal International Musical Competition

The Montreal International Musical Competition(MIMC) (French: Concours Musical International de Montréal) is a high-level musical competition for violin, piano, and voice, established in 2002 by French-Canadian singer Joseph Rouleau.[1]

The three disciplines of the Competition, voice, violin and piano are featured on a rotating basis over a three-year cycle.[1] The 2016 edition dedicated to violin will be followed in 2017 with an edition devoted to piano, and in 2018 with a voice edition.[2] The MIMC is now composed of four rounds: the preliminary round (based on video recordings), the quarter finals, the semi-finals and the finals.[3] Award winners receive cash prizes.[4]

Since May 7, 2004, the Montreal International Musical Competition has been a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions.[4] As of January 2016, the MIMC's President was André Bourbeau and Christiane LeBlanc was the Executive & Artistic Director.[4]
