Moonwalk is Enterprise HSM data management software developed by Moonwalk Inc.
Overview
The Moonwalk software allows scheduled data copy, move and migration of files. Files to be actioned are can be classified by location, name, size, age, owner and/or attributes.
File migration to archival storage is transparent to network users. Users access the migrated files via stub files which remain at the original file location(s).
Platforms
Moonwalk supports the following platforms:
- NetWare 6.5
- Windows 2000, XP, 2003 Server, 2008 Server
- Linux (supports SLES10, SLES11, RHEL5, Novell OES2)
- NetApp filer
Moonwalk also supports the following as archival storage locations only:
- EMC Centera
- Caringo CAStor
- Hitachi Content Archive Platform (HCAP)
- Amazon S3 online cloud storage
- NFS devices.
Components
Moonwalk requires an agent installed on each server. Data transfer is managed between these agents.
Scheduled jobs are managed by a web interface on a separate computer.
