Mpofana Local Municipality is an administrative area in the UMgungundlovu District of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa.

Politics
The municipal council consists of seven members elected by mixed-member proportional representation. Four councillors are elected by first-past-the-post voting in four wards, while the remaining three are chosen from party lists so that the total number of party representatives is proportional to the number of votes received.
2011 election
In the election of 18 May 2011 the African National Congress (ANC) won a majority of five seats on the council. The following table shows the results of the election.[5][6]

2014 election
On 3 September 2014 the Mpofana municipal council was dissolved,[7] and new elections were held on 26 November.[8] The African National Congress (ANC) again won a majority of five seats on the council. The following table shows the results of the election.[9]
