Mukund Purohit is successful entrepreneur who has his business in various industries like Pizza Restaurant Chain, Fertilizer Production and Bollywood movie production. Purohit is a Social activist who supports and raises funds for the "Kanya Kelvani Yojana" (literacy campaign for young girls, deprived of basic education in Gujarat, India) and works for other charities too.
- He works for the Government of India towards developing bilateral relationship between India and Canada.
- He was the person because of who the Canadian business delegation went to Gujarat in January 2009 for the first time; Senator Consiglio Di Nino and Patrick Brown M.P. attended "Vibrant Gujarat" Investor's summit 2009, with 32 prominent businessmen from Ontario.
- He arranged a successful series of meetings with the Saskatchewan delegation led by Hon. Mr. Lyle Stewart, and the Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat to discuss various business opportunities of mutual interest focusing in the area of Oil and Natural Gas and Mining.
- He is a producer of the Bollywood movie Zed Plus.
- Purohit is the first and the only Non Resident Gujarati (NRG) who received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. This metal honours him for his services to Canada and his significant contribution to the country.[1][2]
- Mr. Purohit is a member of Canada India Foundation Organization.[3]
- Purohit received the Canada India Foundation's 2010 Gauravanto Gujarati Award, and Canada-India Friendship Medal from the House of Commons and Canada-India Parliamentary Friendship Group's 2012.
- Gujarat Day was celebrated first time in the history of Canada by Purohit and his team of enthusiastic directors to showcase Gujarat and the progress of Gujarat to the Canadian Diaspora.
- Purohit is the Vice President of International Business Development at Karnalyte Resources Inc and serving as the Director of Karnalyte Resources Inc. since May 2015.[4]
- Mr. Purohit Successfully organized Swarnim Gujarat (50years) celebration in Toronto where Appx. 10000 people attended the 2 days
- In the month of November, 2012, Purohit travelled with the Canadian Prime Minister, Hon. Stephen Harper as key delegates to Delhi, Chandigarh, Bangalore and attended 'World Economy Forum conference'.
