Music Fest Perugia is a festival held since 2007 in Perugia, Italy for young talented musicians every year in the summer.
Formation
The festival was founded by Ilana Vered and Enrique Graf in 2005 in Monte Castello di Vibio, Italy hosting 8 students in its first year. In 2007 the festival moved to the city of Perugia and has since grown, currently hosting 200 students, 52 professors and 3 orchestras.[1][2]
General Information
Many students from all over the world get the opportunity to play with an orchestra as well as participate in lessons, master classes, play in marathon recitals and in chamber music events and partake in an opera production. The concerts take place in halls such as Basilica di San Pietro, Sala dei Notari, Teatro Pavone, most of them famous for their extraordinary acoustics.[1]
"One of the things that makes this festival so special is the very rare opportunity for a young performer to play a concerto with an orchestra. That was the main idea of the festival – get an orchestra and get students to play with it."
——Ilana Vered
