Mystery Circle (ミステリーサークル) is a Tetris-like video game for the Super Famicom that takes place in the distant future. Elements of the classic video game Gals Panic can also be found throughout the gameplay.[3]

It was released on December 4, 1992 exclusively in Japan.

Gameplay

This player has managed to make the block of tiles explode by using his one-time option to activate his space satellite.

There are 71 levels in the game. Starting out with simple designs to blast through, they end up being complex geometric shapes. Instead of using the blocks to clear the playing board, the player must use his or her starship to make an outline of the floating shapes. This causes the shape to magically disappear into thin air.[3] As the player progresses through the levels, the background changes to a different type of design. Most of them resemble crop circles; apparently created by unidentified flying objects.

Using the A button activates a one-time feature to use a space satellite; this would destroy all block particles in the general vicinity of the starship.[3] If the player allows the blocks to fill the entire gaming board, then he or she loses the game like in Tetris. Madness would occur every seventh level as the gravity decides to switch from normal to upside down and eventually back to normal again. While the player cannot control the drop of the blocks, the player can quickly line the starship to draw an outline of the blocks; eliminating the block pattern.

When a two-player game is played, both players play at the same time. They are expected to compete to see who gets the highest score at the end of the game.[4]
