NOVA Cyprus is a Cypriot digital satellite pay television service owned by Multichoice Cyprus. NOVA launched in July 2004 and was the first DTH satellite provider to launch in Cyprus. It is one of two satellite platforms, the other being Athina Sat.

From November 2007, NOVA Cyprus was also available via PrimeTV IPTV service of PrimeTel but a few years later Nova Cyprus was removed from the IPTV service.[1]

NOVA offers Cypriot subscribers an array of programming choices from News, Sports, Movies, Children's & Entertainment.

From 1 July 2011 both LTV and Alfa removed definitely from NOVA Cyprus because the two sides were not able to come to an agreement after the dissolution of Multichoice Cyprus. Then NOVA Cyprus is under the control of Forthnet and Multichoice Hellas and during the summer were added HD service (NovaCinema1,2 HD, NovaSports1,2 HD etc.) from NOVA Greece and some other channels.

From 1 February 2012 all Nova channels (Novacinema 1-4 and Novasports 1-7) are available through the IPTV service of CytaVision.

Dispute with LTV

"In July 2006, LTV pulled their service from the NOVA lineup, due to a dispute with Multichoice. In August 2006, Alfa TV was also removed from the NOVA line-up due to the same dispute." The channels then went on to sign with rival DTH provider Athina Sat.

In 2008, the two sides resumed negotiations and were able to come to an agreement. As of March 3, 2008, both LTV and Alfa are now once again available through NOVA Cyprus [2]
