Nathaniel "Nate" Jafta (born March 30, 1984 in Pampierstad) is a South African soccer player who last played for Harrisburg City Islanders in the USL Second Division.

Career

College

Jafta attended Kgomotso High School in his native South Africa, before moving to the United States in 2005 to attend and play college soccer at Lindsey Wilson College. While with the Blue Raiders he was named to the All Mid-South Conference second team as a sophomore in 2006, and was a NAIA All-American First Team, All NAIA Region XI, and All Mid-South Conference selection as a junior in 2007.

During his college years Jafta also played four seasons with the highly successful Michigan Bucks team in the USL Premier Development League. Jafta led the PDL in assists in 2006, was a PDL Top Eleven selection for three straight years from 2006 to 2008, and played in two consecutive PDL Championship games in 2006[1] and 2007.[2]

Professional

Jafta turned professional in 2009 when he joined the Harrisburg City Islanders of the USL Second Division.[3] He made his professional debut on April 17, 2010 in Harrisburg's opening day 2-2 tie with the Richmond Kickers.[4]
