The New Jersey gubernatorial election of 1949 was a race for Governor of New Jersey held on November 8, 1949. Incumbent Republican Alfred E. Driscoll defeated Democratic nominee Elmer H. Wene with 51.54% of the vote.
For the first time, the Governor of New Jersey was elected to a 4-year term, as oppose to 3 years.
