History and products
In late 2000, Notify Technology entered the wireless market by specifically supporting a variety of Motorola paging devices with connectivity for wireless Email, Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks (PIM). Notify’s product strategy continued to evolve to encompass the next generation of PDA’s with cellular telephone capability, resulting in the 2001 launch of its NotifyLink product, an email and PIM synchronization solution for wireless mobile devices operating on a variety of platforms.[1]
In 2008, Notify released is next major product with NotifySync, providing the accompanying ActiveSync compatibility specifically for BlackBerry devices, and intended as an alternative to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) for email synchronization and management of BlackBerry devices.[2]
In 2010, as the number of new devices in the marketplace continued to grow exponentially, Notify Technology released its third major product. NotifyMDM is a mobile device management software product intended to address the challenges of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) programs, and provide IT administrators with a centralized solution to manage and secure a growing variety of devices, regardless of operating system. The product enabled administrators to perform a number of functions from a single console, whether the software may be hosted On-Premises or on ‘cloud’ servers, such as configure policies, monitoring real-time device statistics, managing applications, and setting access restrictions based on compliance. Included in the company’s market specializations are the Healthcare, Education, Manufacturing, and Public sectors among others.
Notify Technology's products provide solutions to organizations supporting Novell GroupWise, Microsoft Exchange and a number of email collaboration suites, such as the Sun Java System Communications Suite, the Oracle Collaboration Suite and Oracle Beehive, the Mirapoint Messaging Suite, Commucigatepro, Scalix Enterprise Server, Kerio Connect (formerly Kerio MailServer), the MDaemon Messaging Server, FirstClass, and Meeting Maker. The company is an official Apple iPhone Enterprise Development Partner, Android Development Partner, BlackBerry Development Partner, Symbian Alliance Member, and HP/Palm Select Partner.[3][4]
Research firm Gartner predicted in November 2012, that within five years a full 65 percent of companies will adopt an MDM product, specifically noting the “device explosion.” The capabilities that mobile device management providers generally offer in the current competitive market for these services are over-the-air distribution (OTA), multi-mobile operating system support, security mechanisms, enterprise-level application management, and network access control. MDM companies generated in excess of $300 million by 2010, a number expected to quadruple to $1.2 billion by 2015.[5][6][7]
