nuBuilder and nuBuilderPro are open-source applications released by nuSoftware under the GPLv3 Open Source licence model.^[1]

nuBuilderPro is the branding name of version 3 of nuBuilder.^[2]

nuBuilderPro is a tool used by software developers to produce web/cloud database solutions.

nuBuilderPro is supported by nuSoftware. nuSoftware regularly produce updates for nuBuilderPro and submit these updates to GitHub.^[3] nuSoftware also maintain the documentation for nuBuilderPro online.^[4]

nuBuilder and nuBuilderPro is also supported by the global community of software developers who are involved on the nuBuilder forums.^[5]

New updates are no longer provided for version 2 of nuBuilder but you can still download version 2 from SourceForge^[6] and you can still access the documentation for version 2 online.^[7]

The nuBuilder platform stores forms, reports, company data and any custom code in MySQL and displays the content dynamically in a web-browser.

This allows both the development interface, and the user interface to be built through the nuBuilder environment.

History of nuBuilder

• nuBuilder version 1 was first released in early 2009 to a limited number of commercial users.
• In early 2012 with its on going improvements, nuBuilder version 2 was released and made open source by nuSoftware.
• nuBuilder version 3 (also known as nuBuilderPro) was released in January 2014 and is available on GitHub.
• nuBuilderLite^[8] was created in August 2014. nuBuilderLite is a free hosted solution but without PHP scripting functions.

nuBuilderPro Overview

Completely redesigned from the ground up, nuBuilderPro has been engineered using JSON and jQuery, making it capable of building enterprise level applications.

nuBuilder is a BREAD (Browse, Read, Edit, Add, Delete) tool, designed with a simple and easy to learn interface.

nuBuilder is a CRUD (Create, read, update and delete) style platform. It is primarily focused on producing database applications.

nuBuilder is designed using the LAMP software stack. It needs to be hosted on a web server and operates best in a Linux, Apache environment and depends on MySql and PHP.

nuBuilder is a RAD tool (Rapid Application Development). The time involved in producing a Bespoke solutions is significantly reduced.
