o.b. is a brand of tampon currently owned by parent company Edgewell Personal Care. Both the brand and the product was invented by Dr. Judith Esser, who filed a patent in 1960s.[1]
Naming
Dr. Judith Esser named the product o.b.®, which stands for "ohne binde" in German– or "without napkins."
