Oaklyn Public School District is a community public school district that serves students in Kindergarten through ninth grade from Oaklyn, in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. Oaklyn is the only district in New Jersey that still keeps the Kindergarten through ninth grade format.[3] The district consists of two separate schools within one building.
As of the 2011-12 school year, the district's one school had an enrollment of 469 students and 40.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.58:1.[1]
The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "CD", the sixth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[4]
Oaklyn Public School also serves students in Kindergarten through eighth grade from Hi-Nella, a non-operating school district.[5][6]
Students in tenth through twelfth grades attend Collingswood High School as part of a sending/receiving relationship.[7][8]
