Oreochromis karongae is a species of cichlid endemic to Lake Malawi, in Malawi, Mozambique, and Tanzania.
Males of this species can reach a length of 42 centimetres (17 in) TL while females reach 38 centimetres (15 in) SL.
This species is also important to local commercial fisheries[2]
