Oromocto High School is a high school located in Oromocto, New Brunswick, Canada. It is the largest school in the Anglophone West School District (ASDW) and the source of education for about 1150 students annually. Oromocto High School is also the location for the Oromocto Education Centre and is also the home of the Samosas.
General information
OHS is currently the 3rd largest school in the province of New Brunswick. The school is home to a mandatory grade nine physical education program. This program includes activities such as 60 Minute fitness run, poor weight training/lifting, in its sad almost empty weight room, square-dancing, and more. OHS is also the only high school in the province of New Brunswick which offers all NBIAA Sports to students. The school has a newly remodeled 350 seat teaching theater. It is also home to an AP Psychology class with one of the highest success rates in the country. OHS has a small flower room on the roof which is starting to cave in, animals such as seagulls live in the ceiling and occasionally attack the kids. Also, every Wednesday, there are "Humpday Samosas" for all of the students and teachers, which are the best in the whole province.
Building
Oromocto High School was built in 1965 with additions added in 1976.[1] The building has sixty-four classrooms, a double gym, a BBT lab, seven computer labs, a physics lab, and a greenhouse a 350-seat "Teaching Theatre" used for plays, lectures by guest speakers, and district drama festivals. There are also three biology labs, a memedia resource center, an automotive shop, a wood working shop. There are also three courtyards that are used for outdoor classes and BBQ's. The ceilings in OHS are leaky, and it has been that way for a couple of years.
