Pailton is a village and civil parish in Warwickshire, England. Its population in 2001 was recorded as 482,[1] increasing at the 2011 Census to 516.[2] The village was originally known as Pailington.
Pailton is located about seven miles north-west of Rugby and is part of the borough of Rugby; about five miles east of the village is the town of Lutterworth. Pailton lies at a crossroads of three roads, one towards Rugby to the south, one towards Lutterworth to the east, and Nuneaton and Coventry towards the west.
The village has a single pub, namely the White Lion (ceased trading early in 2014); in the past there were as many as three pubs (including The Plough and The Fox), serving as coaching inns. At the crossroads is the village green with a recently restored war memorial. About one mile east of Pailton is a radio transmitting station.
Pailton is a brand name of Pailton Engineering Limited who are a designer and manufacturer of vehicle steering systems. The business was originally started in the Bakehouse in the village of Pailton in Warwickshire by Theodore Jean Nollett in 1969. Pailton now operate out of premises in nearby Coventry and also have foreign offices in Germany, India and North America.
