Pancharatna (architecture)
The pancharatna (meaning "five gems") style of temple architecture, popular in Bengal during the 17th century and later, has five pavilions or towers on the roof; four stand at the corners of the main level, and one above.[1] The style appears to be a development from the panchayatana style of northern India, which had four smaller temples at the corners of the plinth of the main temple.[1]
