Pandamangalam is a panchayat town in Namakkal district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Pandamangalam had a population of 5949. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Pandamangalam has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 62%. In Pandamangalam, 9% of the population is under 6 years of age. Pandamangalam is located near the river cauvery [which is the longest river in Tamil Nadu].The three temples [for Lord Shiva,Lord Vihnu and Goddess Maariamman] located very close to each other in Pandamangalam makes it special from other near by places.The most significant thing about Pandamangalam is the two God's Carts [for Lord Vishnu and Goddess Maariamman],which is been pulled off during the festival time half around the town,with lakhs of people gathered at the same place.
