Pavitra is a 1986 Telugu, drama film, produced by B. R. Mohan, K. K. Viswanatham on Vijaya Lakshmi Art Creations banner and directed by Vinay. Starring Rajendra Prasad, Chandra Mohan, Bhanupriya in the lead roles and music composed by Krishna-Chakra.[2] The film is remake of Tamil film Ingeyum Oru Gangai (1984).[3]
Plot
Pavitra (Bhanupriya) a poor woman who suffers from her drunken father Narasimham (Gollapudi Maruthi Rao) and 3 little brothers & sisters. She falls in love with Kishtaiah (Rajendra Prasad), she is unable to let her relationship go forward because Narasimham asks reverse dowry to marry Pavitra, Kishtaiah agrees to that and leaves to the city to earn money. Due to circumstances arises when Pavitra's livelihood becomes worse and not able to feed her family and poverty makes her take tough decisions which lead her to marry a rich handicapped man Chandraiah (Chandra Mohan), who is innocent & kind hearted person but his step-mother Durga (Annapurna), sister Urmila (K.Vijaya) a shrew women and his brother-in-law Gopalam (Nutan Prasad) is conning person who has a eye on Pavitra, all them harasses Pavitra a lot. Meanwhile, Kishtaiah comes back and when he know regarding Pavitra's marriage he becomes mad and goes on roaming all over the villages. Once Chandraiah is attacked by some goons and accidentally protected by Kishtaiah and he is wounded in the quarrel. Chandraiah brings Kishtaiah to his house and circumstances lead Pavitra to lost love again when Chandraiah comes to know regarding this he decides to reunite them. So he throws Pavitra out of his house by blaming that she is having an illegal affair. But when Kishtaiah & Pavitra comes know the reality they appreciate's consecration of Chandraiah and Kishtaiah says Pavitra to go back. Finally, the movie ends by Pavitra reaching her husband and Kishtaiah leaving the village.
