Pedreira Paulo Leminski

The Pedreira Paulo Leminski is a 30,000 capacity outdoor concert venue, located in Curitiba, Brazil.[1] It was partly named after Paulo Leminski, a twentieth century Brazilian writer, and because it served as a Municipal Pedreira, an asphalt plant. Located in the neighborhood of Pilarzinho, the site is about 103,500 metres long, its stage is around 480m², and it is surrounded by a wall of rock thirty meters high. It was first opened in 1990.

Located near the quarry is the Wire Opera House, which was opened in 1992 for the first Festival of Theater of Curitiba. Together, the two sites make up the Parque das Quarries.

Events in Pedreira

During the city's three hundredth anniversary celebrations, the Pedreia hosted the tenor José Carreras, who was accompanied by the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra.[1]

Ramones played at the arena on November 12, 1994 during their 20th Anniversary Tour.

Bon Jovi Performed in here on October 28, 1995 during These Days Tour

AC/DC performed at the venue on October 11, 1996 as part of the Ballbreaker World Tour.

Van Halen were scheduled to perform during their III Tour on September 25, 1998, but the show was cancelled.

Avril Lavigne performed in here on September 23, 2005 during her Bonez Tour.It was part of a rock festival.

Björk performed at the arena on October 31, 2007 as part of TIM Festival.[2]

KISS played on April 21, 2016 - Monster Tour

On March 4, 2008, British heavy metal band Iron Maiden played its most ambitious tour ever, Somewhere Back In Time World Tour, to at least 20,000 fans.[3]

Katy Perry performed her Prismatic World Tour on September 29, 2015. It was here 3rd and last Brazilian show.

David Gilmour performed at the arena on December 14, 2015 on his album "Rattle that lock" Brazilian tour.

Guns N' Roses will perform at the arena on November 17, 2016 as part of the Not in This Lifetime... Tour.
