Pedro Vaz Marinheiro was a Portuguese nobleman, navigator, resident and colonizer of the Azores Islands.[1]
Biography
Pedro Vaz was born in Portugal, one of the first settlers of São Miguel, Azores.[2] Rich and powerful man, he was called "Marinheiro", by the large number of ships he had in his residence located in Ponta Delgada.[3] He was the father of Grimaneza Pires, who married in Azores with Estêvão Pires de Alpoim, notary in the island.[4]
His brother Diogo Vaz, was inhabitant of Lagoa, Azores.[5]
