Piccomolo Ice Cream is a chain of ice cream stores in the United States, specializing in gelato and other Italian frozen desserts. The name comes from conjoining the Italian words piccolo meaning small and molle meaning soft.

History

Piccomolo was founded in 2002 by Kevin Lee and fellow graduates from the University of Texas at Austin. The company opened its first franchise store in May 2003 in Dallas, TX. Piccomolo gelato is made in store from all natural ingredients.[1]There are currently 23 stores in 5 states. The company's headquarters are located in Irving, Texas. Piccomolo is currently undergoing store development in parts of Louisiana, Florida, Texas, Arizona, Virginia, and California.[2]
