Pippara is a village & major panchayat in West Godavari district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Ganapavaram mandal.[1]
Etymology
It is mentioned in the Tretha Yuga, which indicates that Lord Rama visited Pippara with Sita and Laxmana during his aranya vaasa period. At the time of conversation among them Lord Rama told "BIRA BIRA", in Sanskrit 'Bira Bira' means move fast, gradually it was pronounced as Pira Pira and finally it is settled as Pippara.
Demographics
As of 2011 census, Pippara had a population of 7,719. The total population constitute, 3,835 males and 3,884 females —a sex ratio of 1013 females per 1000 males. 731 children are in the age group of 0–6 years, of which 354 are boys and 377 are girls. The average literacy rate stands at 75.06% with 5,245 literates.[1]
