PostNet International Franchise Corporation is a privately held company that franchises PostNet retail business centers. Every PostNet location offers printing, copying and shipping services, as well as graphic design, mailbox rentals and notary services. As of 2010, there are more than 800 PostNet centers worldwide, including more than 300 in the United States.
History
PostNet co-founders Steven J. Greenbaum and Brian Spindel entered the postal and business center industry in the early 1980s, originally heading a consulting firm that developed more than 450 independent mail and parcel centers in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and Guam. In the late 1980s, Greenbaum and Spindel decided to start franchising as a means to gain “strength in numbers” for their clients. The PostNet franchise program was launched in July 1993.[1][2]
Since 1993, PostNet has grown to more than 300 locations in the U.S., and more than 800 worldwide. PostNet’s master franchise program allows individuals or companies to buy the rights to develop PostNet centers in a particular country. Some of its larger master franchises include South Africa (more than 200 locations) and Canada (more than 10 locations). PostNet can also be found in Australia, Botswana, Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ireland, Panama and Venezuela.[3]
